CERN Administrative Student Programme 2027

Ever wondered how the world's biggest physics lab actually runs? CERN's Administrative Student Programme puts you inside it. You'll spend 4 to 12 months onsite near Geneva, working full-time alongside experienced professionals in an international, multicultural team. You'll help with daily operations, such as preparing documents, analysing data and coordinating activities, under close supervision, while seeing how your studies translate into real work. It is open to university students in administration, communication, finance, human resources, law, logistics, procurement or related fields (STEM and engineering students should look at the Technical Student programme instead). You need to be a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State, have completed at least 18 months (3 semesters) of study, have good English or French, and stay enrolled full-time throughout. PhD students and holders are not eligible. You receive a tax-free allowance of CHF 3,486 a month, 30 days of paid leave plus 2 weeks of annual closure, health insurance, and travel expenses to Geneva, with a family supplement depending on your circumstances. The ideal start date is 1 April 2027. Applications close on 16 October 2026 at 23:59 Geneva time, and results are announced in February 2027.
