Mila Supervision Request for Research Master's and PhD

If you dream of doing a research Master's or PhD in machine learning, Mila's supervision request is the first door to knock on. Mila is a leading deep learning and reinforcement learning research centre in Montreal, and every research student there is supervised by one of its affiliated professors. You fill out one form on the MyMila portal and name up to three professors whose work fits your interests. The window runs from October 15 to December 1 each year. Some professors only select students through this process, so it can improve your chances. Others don't take part, and you can email them directly. International students are encouraged to apply. Mila is not a university, so you also need to apply to the university or school of your chosen supervisor (Université de Montréal, McGill, Polytechnique Montréal or HEC Montréal). Prepare that file at the same time, because the time between a supervisor's decision and the university deadline can be short. Positions are funded by your supervisor through a stipend or scholarship. The amount varies, so confirm it with them. Selected applicants hear back between January and April.
